  • Meet Nana Araba!

Chef Nana Araba Wilmot celebrates global cuisine and draws her deepest inspiration from the rich foodways of the African Diaspora, particularly her Ghanaian heritage. Her culinary perspective is further enriched by deep familiarity and skill in French and Spanish cuisines, as well as flavor traditions from the American South and various regions of Asia.

Trained at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, she honed her craft under culinary luminaries such as Iron Chef José Garcés, Chef Marie Rose at La Mercerie, and Chef Daniel Rose at Le Coucou (1 Michelin Star), which earned a James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in 2017 and a Michelin Star in 2018.

Her work has been featured in Bon Appétit, Forbes, The New York Times, and Eater. She has competed on Food Network’s Chopped and appears in Alexander Smalls’ 2024 cookbook The Contemporary African Kitchen.

She is the chef-owner of Georgina’s Private Chef and Catering Co. and the creator of Love That I Knead—a West African-inspired dinner series crafting immersive dining experiences designed to help guests connect with a shared sense of home through flavor. Chef Nana divides her time between New York City and Accra, Ghana, where she returns annually to host pop-ups and stay connected to the evolving landscape of West African cuisine.
